Worcs trying to claw something back as Derby get to 200 in under 30 overs. Reece (96) and Madsen (108) are both going at much better than a run a ball

Northants making steady progress on 178-3 after 33, although Vasconcelos has gone now for 74

Bresnan has finished his 10... 2-36

I think we showed him a lot of respect in his last spell.... I think his last 3 overs were 1-7

Lees has finally got to his 50. he was going at a SR of 100 until he got to about 42 and now his SR is down to 76.

It took him 6 overs to get from 45 to 50

and now we're off for rain

Our RR was up towards the 7 mark at one point, but it's now down to just over 5, so if this turns out to be our innings, then we are likely to find ourselves in the same boat as we were in the Worcs game..... and we need the game to continue or we're out of the cup anyway

Worcs look as though they'll have to chase a big score, and Northants are on course to perhaps set Notts 300 runs to win theirs, so it would be a shame if we were to fall short of the knockouts because of DL and a tardy RR in this match..... particularly since we made a very good start.... that would be disappointing

I think one thing in our favour - assuming we get back on - is only losing 2 wickets should make the DL target more of a challenge. Can't remember the score in the Worcs game when it rained but think it was something like 110/4 with about 30 overs to go.

Going to lose at least an hour according to Martin Emmerson.

Sounds like the weather is not too promising for the rest of the day at Yorkshire.

We probably won't bat again. If it clears up later Yorkshire will probably get 10 overs in where they mysteriously only have 20 runs to win. It would obviously be more under D/L but our rules seem to go by FTECB.

No. Raining again and surely this time it definitely will be the end of our innings and just question of if we can get 10 overs of the Yorkshire reply. Forecast suggests we might not! :horse

everything else is going our way too. Worcs need 352, Notts 326

both require a lot of good batting to win

Typical! So a win would probably secure a home QF.

The way things are panning out those two sixes from the demon batsman Graham Onions will have cost us a place in the QF's!

I'm confused over the qualification.

If we don't get a result today are we out? The way I understand it is only the top 3 in the group qualify and in the event of being on the same points the first tie breaker is number of wins.

Therefore even if Worcester lose we would be level on points with Worcester and Lancashire but they both have five wins to our four.

Have I got this right?

Or even direct entry to a home SF, if Notts were to really badly screw up their run chase.

Yes, I think so. If it's a tie or no result at Headingley we are out. A win would definitely see us through and if Worcs lose we'd have a home QF on Friday. I think that's right anyway! Definitely need two points from this game though.
I think there is even a very slight chance of topping the group but it'd require a highly unlikely change in net run rates.

So win or bust then.
