If we don't get a result today are we out? The way I understand it is only the top 3 in the group qualify and in the event of being on the same points the first tie breaker is number of wins.

Therefore even if Worcester lose we would be level on points with Worcester and Lancashire but they both have five wins to our four.

Have I got this right?

Yes, I think so. If it's a tie or no result at Headingley we are out. A win would definitely see us through and if Worcs lose we'd have a home QF on Friday. I think that's right anyway! Definitely need two points from this game though.
I think there is even a very slight chance of topping the group but it'd require a highly unlikely change in net run rates.

So win or bust then.

I was afraid of that..

Yep.

I'll start.....

if they get 33 overs same as us they'll be chasing 250, I reckon

or, in other words, an enormous T20 score, but with 33 overs to get them

According to Martin Emmerson we're going to have another 2.5 overs to bat if we do resume at 3.30.
So just enough time to lose a few wickets and make the DL target easier!

how stupid is that?

they really are as thick as pigshit. All this rain floating about and they still want us to go back out instead of getting on with the flipping game

perhaps the powers that be are quite happy for this game to be a no result..... make qualification easier for a 'proper' team like Lancashire

Although Martin Emmerson says the radar suggests there won't be any more play! If that's the case it'll be a terrible way to go out as we seemed very likely to set a total that'd have made us strong favourites.

Worcs off to a flyer. 79-0

I'd forgotten how bad the Derbyshire bowlers were when we played them.

Notty's in a bit of bother. 59-3

I wonder if they got caught in two minds thinking about the weather - if they felt it was sure to rain they might have been in wicket preserving mode with the intention to push on again if the weather allowed.Tricky situation especially with the unpredictable DL generator.
Or it could just have been poor batting!

The only good thing about going out this way ( assuming we do ) is it won't dent confidence after an encouraging campaign. They'll feel they would have won this one - might not have done but they won't think that way!
