of the CC? Eckersley for Richardson presumably , but who makes way for Cameron Steel? Put Burnham in the 2nds and tell him to improve his concentration in the field.
Rushy for Potts?
So
C. Steel
Lees
Bancroft
Harte
S. Steel
Eckersley
Carse
Raine
Trevaskis
Sainsbury
Rushworth

Yeah, I like the look of that. I'd probably open with Lees, Harte or even give Scott S a go. I might play Raine a bit higher, just because he is a left hander. Not sure, might sub Cameron with Richo as Richo does seem to have some form and it might be good to use it, and with Bancroft playing it might calm his tendency to get involved in run outs. Cam is struggling... so unless he sets the seconds alight.... Clark and Burham need time there too.
Salisbury started poorly but I think he has tightened up during the 50 comp so I'd keep him. Potts can bat a bit and I'd like to see the combination of him with the other two while they are all fit. I would be tempted to rest Rushy just a tad longer. He will be needed soon enough I'm sure.

Cameron Steel and Clark both out cheaply for the seconds against Yorkshire - although the bowling attack is very strong with Bresnan and Coad opening the bowling. At least Steel (18) batted for over 90 minutes ,unlike Clark (0).

That Yorkshire attack of Coad, Bresnan, Waite and Fisher is as good an attack as you'll get in the 2nd division of the CC.I'd settle for openers to last 90 minutes on the opening day at the Riverside.
1st would be normally 80-7 at lunch against that attack.
Given the weather forecast there won't be much play in the next 3 days.

Yep. Top notch attack. Greenwell and Eckersley putting together a good partnership.

Well they were putting together a good partnership! Impressive for Greenwell to get a half century against that attack.

Pringle and Poynter out cheaply again so they're moving further towards the sidelines. Eckersley looked like a good player to me against Sussex and he's 8 away from a century today. No doubt he'll be out now but another encouraging innings nonetheless.

I've seen Eckersley a couple of times now with the 2nds and is far too good at the moment to be there, he seems sensible! Cam and Clark have to stay there until they get themselves sorted out, which I hope does not take them too long.

Yep. Steel should be ok but I'm not sure about Clark. Had an excellent T20 season last year if I remember rightly - although there'll be one less spit this tear with Short playing. I know they haven't named a captain yet but, assuming he's still here, Bancroft will presumably be playing?
With another Brexit delay I wonder if Tahir could turn Kolpak immediately following the World Cup! ;)

Yes, a ton against what is a 1st XI attack is commendable but can we read anything into the fact that Poytner is down to keep wicket?
Can't see him being considered 1st team material when he'll be classified overseas next season so does it suggest that Bangers will also keep wicket in the CC?
Poytner And Weighell also require lengthy batting rehab with the 2nds.

Yep, isn't Weighell supposed to be an all rounder? Certainly made some useful runs last year in one of the great comeback victories. Hardly scored a run this year so far.
Is Eckersley not down as keeper in this game with Poynter having the * captaincy tag? Although why he would be captain is another mystery.

:coat doh, confused my cricket symbols. Don't think you can read anything into Poytner being captain. With the 2nd team,I think the last one to arrive in the dressing room gets lumbered with the captaincy :Nooooo

I'm sure I've seen cards where those two symbols are used the other way so Poynter might be keeping. They do seem to use a lot of 2nd team captains, so that method of probably the one they use - last man in!

Pringle and Poynter out cheaply yet again for the seconds although Yorkshire are having a slight wobble chasing a low score.

Reading The Times and there's a snippet suggesting FTECB are going to change the RL50 qualification rules next year, the implication is they'll revert back to run rate taking priority over the number of wins in the event of two teams being level on points. :horse
