if we are going to be 14-3 anyway, it might be better if it's those 3...... then we can send in the real openers and that way Bangers might not have to come in until the 10th over

Derbyshire are our next victims, starts Monday at the Riverside. No doubt we will be back to winning ways after those fluke defeats in the last 6 games!

Yep. Just might need a bit of luck and a half decent opening stand. It's not as if we've been hundreds of runs short so a modest improvement might be enough.

So the experiment with Pringle as opener lasted one game! They seem to be desperately shuffling the pack ( or deckchairs on the Titanic?) trying to find the right combination. The problem imo is there is not enough proven quality in the batting department so terrible collapses are almost inevitable. The pressure on Bancroft must be enormous. Eckersley looks pretty good and has a more than decent FC record but has no chance because he's always in with a dreadful total on the board and not many wickets left.
Maybe Franklin should come out of retirement? I'm only half joking!

2nds have T20 and red ball games v Lancs this week so presumably Weighell and Clark are in the 1st 's to make up the numbers. Scott Steel is fit again so hopefully he and Cameron had get back into form in the 2nds.

Let's hope so. And surely Lees will be able to find his form in FC cricket. All those runs in the RL50 can't have been a fluke so he must have the ability.

I'm hoping to be there for much of the opening session and much of the final session. Going on the first day is perhaps the only way I'll get to see any of the game. The match will probably be over by Tuesday lunchtime

No toss - surprise surprise! On the BBC card Harte is down at 3 with Bancroft 4, we'll have wait until a couple of minutes after 11am to find out if that's right.

I'm off out to get some shopping and then I'll head down to CLS. Hopefully we will still be batting when I get there.
