nobody will be frightened of playing England, but based on the second half, everyone will be worried about playing Japan

at half time, Phil Neville said that England keep coming up against goalies who play out of their skin. Sounds like an excuse, but I actually find myself agreeing with him. Some of the goalkeeping has been terrific.

Phil Neville has been happy to mix and match his players in the groups; he's been happy to make planned substitutions rather than tactical ones, but now he has to decide who his best XI are.

and he needs to makes sure that his goalies stay behind the line when VAR awards the opposition an innocuous penalty decision, after earlier ruling out 3 England goals for toenail offsides, of course

commentator yesterday noted that England have a long break before their last 16 match, but the fixture list says Sunday..... so who knows

Cameroon scored their winner with the last kick of the game against NZ otherwise England would have got China.... I think.... not sure..... complicated process

seemingly if there are no shocks in the last 16, USA and France will meet in the QF's..... feels like bad planning on the part of the organisers
