Unless Handscomb does something special in the last two overs we are doomed again. This batting lineup is poor and why bowl first?

A narrow 21 run defeat. Handscomb apart it looks to have been a hopeless batting display.
And if spinners were dominant why only bowl Steel for 1 over ( one where he got a wicket) ?

you'd have to ask the great leader

Steel picked up a couple the other day in the seconds T20 too, I think

perhaps he rang up Nasser in Australia and asked what he should if he won the toss?

At least Handscomb came in up the order! So it's Derbyshire away on Friday and then what I'm sure will be a straightforward home win on Sunday...against Notts. :scared

Horrific weather forecast for whole country on Friday and the good news for Sunday is Riki Wessels no longer plays for Notts :D

Yep! Won't have to worry about the 100 runs he'd have scored!

and they left Raine out, of course

Strikes me that the management at Durham don't see obvious solutions as easily as we do (perhaps they are too close to see). We shouted for Bangers to open right from the off in the CC.... and for Raine to take the new ball, and when eventually they did it they turned their whole season around.

we have the basis of a pretty decent T20 side, with just the odd tweak needed in personnel and position. It'll be too late, of course, by the time they listen, but we might get there in the end. Last year Sussex made it to finals day on the back of 3 wins at the end of the groups, so there is still hope, I suppose

horrendous weather expected for today and tomorrow, but Sunday I don't know about.

will the weather change sufficiently for my brolly to work its magic on Sunday?

I reckon we can beat Notts on Sunday. Normally I would be fearful of a side boasting Hales, Duckett, Christian, Gurney, but they seem to be as inconsistent as we are, despite having far greater fire power than us.

the Riverside is a pretty good leveller, I think. We lost to Lancs (the best side in the group by far) more because they were really sharp in the field, than because of far superior fire power. All those Notty primadonna's might not fancy haring about in the deep.

Current forecast for Sunday is rain but it's a 15% chance throughout the day according to the BBC site - odd because it also mentions a Met Office weather warning! In other words I think the forecast is useless. Just have to see what it's like on Sunday morning.
Agree about the Riverside being a leveller, there's always a decent chance there even against stronger opposition. Still be relying on Short though!
