WI tour of England, July 8-28

Ashes, WI in NZ, SA in India

Perfect start for England. Batted the 11 overs I thought were likely...and thanks to Stokes and some sloppy fielding they made about twenty more than expected.

Would be astonished if West Indies made any sort of attempt to chase this. All their body language in that innings screamed "let's hang in for a draw"

Bowling them out might not be easy at all. But it is going to be fun trying . New ball period might be decisive...

Campbell out for four....

Hmmm...I wonder if he's played his last Test for the West Indies.

Contrasting knocks from Stokes in the game as well as a big bowling effort. I guess England will try not to bowl him much (even if his injury has eased) but I'm sure he will if the game starts to drift.

Needless to say I'm expecting an England win.

Was Stokes actually injured ? They said he just had indigestion...and certainly the way he came back didn't suggest any side/chest problem.

Too early to call this : they were 3 and a half down before lunch in the first game...

Perfect start for England. I didn't think they'd get 300 with 85 overs left. Played Stokes. And Broad.

Given themselves every chance. But they need to hold their catches this time round...

Watching the highlights from yesterday, the bounce is very erratic with the new ball.

Who comes in for Campbell?

Shane Moseley?

Kraigg out for 12...now, that's a big blow!
:no
Shai out for seven. Time for him to go too....

Bring in a middle-order batsmen in Nkrumah Bonner? Or persuade Holder to bat in the allrounder position, and bring in Cornwall?

Yes. That is why I was keen for a fairly attacking declaration ...thought batting today would be tough.

Still 7 to get so no guarantees. ; but you'd fancy England's chances from here. Hope they keep pitching it up...

And again ! Pins Chase dead in front :clap

Maybe the selectors will claim they wanted to "incentivise " him for this match :)
