Mo has just bowled Kohli with a ball tossed up outside off that drifted away then turned savagely. Kohli stood there while something was reviewed, even though he'd been clean bowled through the gate. Given out.... no idea if he reviewed that or tried a WG Grace. Did he think Mo had overstepped?

Action session. Rohit terrific , brave and brilliant. Pitch doing way too much so early. And Stone excellent : pick of the bowlers for mine , though I expect the spinners to do most of the damage from here.

India wresting control back. Excellent partnership between Rohit and Ajinkya. Pitch has definitely quietened down a bit in this session. Rohit has offered several half chances... catches just out of reach or dropping just short. A bit of a charmed life at times, but has certainly earned the breaks. These two setting things up nicely for a Pant attack later

Very good session for India. Anything but for England. They've tried hard but frankly looked pretty toothless. Neither batsman really troubled , far too many easy runs on offer , and it is hard to see where a wicket is coming from.

Team changes might not have made much difference (one can never know for certain). But while Stone bowled well , Moeen (one magic ball apart) has delivered just what his record suggested he would. Five plus per over , no maidens. Not what they needed.

Credit where it is due. Rohit especially , and Rahane , have played reallly well

Pitch didn't look so difficult with the older ball. But you sense it will be a lot trickier by late tomorrow...good toss to win. India will be eyeing three hundred from here ; which should be impregnable.

I'd generally say judge a pitch after both teams have batted, but some balls this morning have maybe shown 100 all out might be par. So maybe Vaughan has a point
