Thanks DF - I just hope that Durham are better than my jokes. I'm (cautiously) optimistic about this season. Then again, I was cautiously optimistic about last season....

Alex Thompson signed on a 2 month loan deal. Seems odd to bring in a spin bowling allrounder in April. Looks to have pretty moderate stats....his 6 for 138 against Hampshire is an interesting career best!

Yes, strange one. Certainly appears to be sounding the death knoll for Trevaskis. Possibly Coughlin also. It appears that they're looking for someone to give control in the middle of opposition innings which neither Coughlin nor Carse can offer. Carse, though, can offer genuine pace on a suitable wicket; Coughlin would do well to adopt Otis' mantra -"Don't get bitter, get better".

Although I see Farbrace says Thomson played all 5 BWT games last year so maybe he is just a late developer!

Oh dear! I think we are playing Warwickshire at the end of April...I wonder if the terms of the deal are that he must be selected for that game.
