Although I've just looked at the scorecard and the only sixes awarded were 1 for Brathwaite and 2 for Brezza at the death. The Dickson save was much earlier in the innings

He caught the ball in the air and got rid of it before he landed, so why he did that I have no idea. Although there were some noisy Warky fans down there who kept yelling at Dan Mousley all the time when he was fielding there as if they knew him from school or something (and he did acknowledge them the first time before attempting to ignore them) so maybe they suggested to Dickson that he'd trodden on the rope? Didn't look like it to me, though

still...... it matters not

Yep. Didn't look as if he was on the rope, will take a look on the YouTube stream.
We've put together a good series of results in both competitions so far , so we definitely are headed in the right direction.

I didn't see Dickson notice making a signal nor did the umpire because he didn't signal a 6.

Surprising how quickly Bancroft and Dickson accelerated our innings, because we went from a fairly sedate 100 off 12.2 overs to 185, without ever going bonkers or gung ho and without taking excessive risk. That MIles over (I think it was Miles) helped.... 6 no balls plus a couple of wides, but there was a lot of hard running going on in that partnership and Bangers looked as though he was utterly blown in the final over.

At the halfway point Warks were ahead, but after Carse took 2 in the over they very quickly fell behind the rate despite regularly hitting 8 or 9 off the overs. Only Stokes was really miserly for us

we had 8 overs where we scored more than 10 runs, and 5 of them came in the last 8 overs, Warks had 5 overs and 4 of them came in the first 10

After we got to 100 off 12.2 overs, we only let Warks bowl 7 dot balls, one of which was the wicket of Dickson. In that same period we bowled 19 dot balls including wickets

And actually.... just to prove what a simple game T20 is..... Warks managed to bowl 25 dot balls in the whole of our innings, whereas we bowled 46 ie 21 more

The margin of victory?

22 runs

people like to think that T20 is all about 6's and 4's, but successful teams do the basics well too

Looking at the stream and it was the 2nd ball of Borthwick's last over, Dickson stepped over the rope as he fielded it, I thought he was inside the rope but looking at the replay he wasn't. Alex Hales wouldn't have owned up!

ah... so we were talking about different incidents

I actually left with 3 overs still go, so I missed the Brezza pyrotechnics. I was happy that Warks were not going to get the 51 runs needed and I didn't want to have to hang around waiting to be given permission to leave

Bancroft - in his interview with Emmerson- said he thought our score was about 20 over par.. i thought we were under par at the halfway stage...but he knows what he is talking about!

weather was lovely and sunny for most of the match, which is why I went 'undercover'

agree about the fielding. There was a lot of diving over the ball and at times I was getting frustrated at the number of two's Warks were running. There was one Trevaskis over from the Lumley end where Sam Hain hit 4 two's in 5 balls to the same part of the field between deep square leg and long on with both fielders on the rope. Just a gentle push into acres of space with no adjustment to the field to cut it off or make the batter take more of a risk. Now it's entirely possible that Bangers was happy to concede two's in the 14th over with the asking rate up around 12 an over, but I was getting very agitated about it. Hain wasn't trying to find the boundary, he was just milking the bowler for as many as he could without risking getting out

we scored quite a lot of runs in that second half of our innings without ever looking as though we were taking a risk. 7.8 an over in the first 10 (17 dot balls), 10.8 an over in the second (8 dot balls). It was a good partnership between Bancroft and Dickson and then Bancroft dominated the strike in the last couple of overs. It all looked very simple

Yes, I kept looking at the DL total on the board and they were up with it for the greater part of the innings, not many wickets lost but we looked in control. It would have taken a couple of disastrous overs to lose control but ,every time they looked as if they might move ahead , we either got a wicket or dried up the runs.
