Umpires waited until England were ahead of the rate and took the players off

They thought about taking them off a little earlier, but England were 1 run behind the par score, so they didn't

it was raining a little bit harder the second time and it got a bit worse shortly afterwards so it might just have been good umpiring

it might have been unconvincing, but the opposition are allowed to bowl well and England still found a way to get over the line. They could have easily imploded, but didn't.
