Potts ends up with match figures of 7-68

That's a decent introduction to test cricket

there seems to be a lot of criticism aimed at Stokes over the end that Parky bowled from. Seemingly leggies always favour bowling down the slope at Lords rather than up it as Parky was asked to do, so I presume he was bowling from the pavilion end. Now I think about it, I watched Warne bowling at Lords and he bowled from the nursery end. Parky picked up his first test wicket this morning.... don't know if he was bowling from the same end or not

Yup. Will be quite pleasantly surprised if we make 200, let alone get these.

Can't remember being as underwhelmed by a debuting England spinner since Samit Patel was being promoted as a bowler, though there may have been others overseas. England have burned through a lot of spinners in India. Never saw Crane. I suppose Parkinson is young and could improve.

Rain.

Yesterday worst I've ever seen Parkinson, maybe nerves, maybe Lords slope. He's far better than that, has flight and loop and good control for a leggie.

Judging on the lunch menu posted on twitter, no wonder our players cant hold a bat or looked tired....if that's what they are scoffing down for lunch, most people would need a week's kip to work it off

Missed the restart by ten minutes, England lost two wickets... Going to take a mammoth effort to save this game now

But the ball getting older and the experienced bats now in. This is where England can fight back, if they're going to.

JB1 goes though. If England are going to win. This is the key. Captain and former captain.

16 off 15 balls for Jonny. Seems like he threw the dice.

From BBC updates.

26% of Jonny Bairstow's Test dismissals have been bowled.

Of all the players to bat as often in Test cricket as Bairstow, only two players (Courtney Walsh and Gundappa Viswanath) have a higher bowled percentage than the Englishman.

3/4 bowled in the innings. Bad batting or great bowling?
