Jacob Bethell was playing for Gloucs on loan in the last match and earned Mike 108 points.... woo hoo!

James Anderson felt like a wild card because he might not play much, rather than he might take so few wickets.

I remember the Prof selecting Matt Henry even though he was only scheduled to play for half a dozen matches or so, yet Henry demolished county sides and racked up huge points in the short time he was there..... then as a little Brucie bonus, he came back unexpectedly for the last few games of that season and finished up on the top 10 player board, so the gamble can work..... just not with Santiago


and there was a time when it was possible to select IPL players, because they would only miss a fifth, or at worst a quarter of the county championship season, but now, thanks to the guardians of the game, half the season is over by the time they return. Gawd bless the guardians of the game.... no bonus left unturned in the pursuit of stability and excellence
