Durham enforced the follow on and have made early inroads. That man Carlson (the bloke with blu tack under his bails) has come out to save his side all over again less than an hour after saving them in the last innings. Labu the beast back in the hutch

Dobell defended the umpires in the Hants match, when they took tea with one run needed and this match at Hove is precisely why. His argument was that Hants had requested the extra half hour, but failed to hit the winning run in that time. Had it then rained he argued, and it was early April, Hants would have had to settle for a draw and it was no business of the umpires to do anything other than follow all the rules, which they did. Had it rained it would have been Hampshire's fault for not getting over the line, not the umpires fault for not bending the rules even by one ball.

It seemed silly at the time, but he makes a fair point
