Seems to have been a farcical end to the Derbyshire Leicestershire game with the umpires unsure if Derby needed 54 from 3 overs or from 1 over! Apparently they had to phone ECB HQ to check...and it was 1 over.
Not sure how that confusion arose but it seems as if there was a feeling that losing 2 overs for the change of innings might not apply in the final hour of day 4!

Ollie Robinson has gone off injured.

hardly surprising, because he's probably had to bowl himself into the ground for the cause. 7 fer in each innings

lets hope it isn't too bad and he recovers quickly. England will be cacking themselves and keeping everything crossed..... they might not let him turn out for Sussex again before the ashes

Against his wishes, he has been pulled from the Sussex squad for the Leicestershire game tomorrow. Although he apparently has been given the green light to play vs Glamorgan next week. Seems whatever injury he had, he is fine and returned to 100% health, but the ECB don't want him to play.

it must be frustrating for both player and club, but I can see why England have opted to pull Robinson out of the squad. Unlike a lot of the county bowlers they've been insisting rest, Robinson is going to be a key member of the ashes squad, so it always seemed likely that they'd want to wrap him up in cotton wool..... especially with Archer wobbling and having to be pulled out of the IPL

My understanding is, Smith was signed on the basis Robinson would be available for all 3 games... but hey, why anyone would take the ECBs word for anything is beyond me.

Not that its any great surprise. Once a Sussex bowler gets picked for England, one accepts they will either be returned as a cripple, or will disappear long enough for their contract to run out and Surrey replace it.

I'm feeling sorry for Gloucestershire atm. They'd already lost 800 overs in 4 matches to the weather, which is roughly 8 days and a session of play and now they go to Derby and guess what............. no play today because of rain

they just can't catch a break this season
