8 drops by Bairstow I am sure it affects his batting just as Root's does as well. Before the Ashes and since the retired the captaincy I can't remember him dropping any. Also Anderson not getting wickets and dropping catches which he hasn't done for some years. Catches win matches. Foakes has to be in the team.

I think the commentators have got their teeth into the dropped catches theme and won't let go. They are now grinding their teeth at half chances. And alternative picks drop catches too.

They say they use a pink ball underlights because the shadow on the pitch can make the red ball harder to detected. Yet we have a guy at one end bowling 90mp plus bouncers at tailenders in gloomy conditions with floodlights on.... Have to wonder if this is particularly safe

Two wickets in very little time. Good catch by Harry to dismiss Starc followed by a wonderful lien and length ball outside off by Mark Wood to dismiss Pat caught behind by keeper. England very much back in game. Could be favorites if last two wickets don't make much for Australia.
