hmm.....

seemingly Madsen nicked off first ball which fell short of slip, then nicked off over the top of slips and then nicked off to Potts at gully which he put down. All this before he passed 14. Guest was dropped by Robbo on 122, which although not a straightforward chance he did have the gloves to help hold on

If we don't run through them early in the morning, we might rue these missed opportunities

Yes, seems sloppy. With our batting you'd expect another big total but surely we have to have a bad first innings at some point- think the lowest so far was 374 in the first game.

bloody hell....... another ton for Alex Lees. 4 in the last 5 innings and the non ton innings was in a chase of 52

3rd ton of the season for Bedders as well, and we are rollicking along at 5 an over

just a shame we didn't polish them off quickly this morning or we might have been in a commanding position by the close of play

Lees out for 171

with Rew and du Plooy having first innings failures, Lees will probably go top of the runscoring charts after this round of matches

he's the first player to reach 1000 runs for the season with Rew (who almost certainly won't bat again this match) and du Plooy needing to score over 100 runs in the second innings to knock him off his perch

Amazing batting again from Lees and Bedingham- ridiculous really to score so quickly and almost unbelievable to do it after being 8 for 2 replying to a 400 plus score. I think the forecast is poor for the last day so might be just about securing the bonus points. Interesting report from ESPN saying that Pretorius came in to take advantage of a tiring attack!

probably sick of chasing the ball all over the place.

It's a big difference in approach. It took Derbys 120 overs to get to 443, which in different times would have been a perfectly acceptable rate. We ended up 79 runs behind after only 69 overs. Given the weather for the final 2 days it turns the distant chance of a positive result into a possible one. If Robbo, Clarky and Carse really get going tomorrow, it'll pile lots of pressure onto a side that has struggled to find wins all season

Yes, I must admit again to thinking the ultra aggressive approach would not work for either us or England but it has worked too many times for it to be lucky gambling. Got to give them credit for the way they play. 8 for 2 and I was sure my fears about a batting failure would be justified - wrong yet again!

I used to like going down when we were bowling, because it was less alarming than watching us bat. Now the opposite is true and I enjoy watching us bat.

Even back in the great days, we only really needed to find a way of scoring 350 to be pretty certain of the win because it was our bowling that was so strong, not our batting

Yes. It used to be a case of getting to the ground and hardly daring to check the scoreboard when we were batting.

Piled on the runs yet again - those all-rounders down the order are such an asset. Pity they couldn't get any wickets - not that it will matter unless the forecast is hopelessly wrong. And it surely can't be. Still, a draw and maximum batting points will do.

Yes, we missed a bowling point. The 9th wicket coming after the 110 overs were up

Our lead at the top extends again though

Could be more inclement weather around this week so a few more draws could be on the cards- that wouldn't suit the chasing pack. Surely one more win would seal promotion- maybe not mathematically but realistically- and a couple of draws with a decent tally of bonus points would probably do it too. Yorkshire playing well but not having much look with the weather- will be tough opponents if we get enough play for a meaningful game.

We won’t have to worry about a Yorks challenge, the ECB won’t dare let them get promoted. The others aren’t good enough to stop us getting promoted, so I think we’re clean and clear for div 1 cricket next year
