Yes, would take something extraordinary to prevent it.

Won the toss and have decided to bowl. de Leede in for Carse who is apparently rested - makes sense because 3 games in 3 weeks was likely to be too arduous for him.

Like putting the opposition in when you win the toss.

Yes, second time in a row where I was surprised by the decision to bowl. Maybe the conditions suggested it was a good idea but we're averaging close to 450 in the first innings so I think batting first is usually the way to go. Famous last words but, if we can get Lyrh early tomorrow, the rest of the batting looks potentially vulnerable.

Pretty good fightback with the ball today followed by an unusually watchful batting effort - old school run rate!
No need to take any unnecessary risks given our position in the table but I thought they'd come out all guns blazing nonetheless.

Entirely sensible approach, I think. Conditions were probably not great and this Yorks attack looks strong. Coad, Fisher, Thompson, Steketee and Hill feels formidable. All we have to do is not lose, keep our lead in the table healthy and wait until Sept with 2 home games and expected better weather to finish the job.

Apart from the opening stand and a big flourish from Thompson at the end, we took wickets regularly and prevented Yorkshire's good start developing into something matchwinning. Same again tomorrow, please

I agree. There's no need now to take any risks.

Early lunch and 1pm inspection. Probably just about bonus points now.

Some suggestion that both teams are keen on trying to contrive a result if the weather allows enough play. I think we would be very foolish to go down that route - no need whatsoever to do anything other than take what points are on offer. I think I'd prefer it to rain all day if the alternative is a risky run chase.

No need at all, but there should be play tomorrow

I confess that a rainy few days feels to me like a decent enough outcome for a match at Scarborough. It's an odd ground, often hard to bat on and usually hard to come away with a decent result. I'll happily take a draw.

perhaps Yorks think they aren't going to get a points deduction, otherwise they wouldn't be bothering to contrive anything. It has all gone very quiet at the ECB

Inspection at 12 noon so that suggests no play before lunch, surely that puts paid to any notion of a contrived result. If we get play this afternoon we just need to play Bazball and see if we can get a few more bonus points.

Just when it looked as though a very obdurate 8th wicket stand from Gloucs might might be about to thwart Worcs, the new ball sees off the last 3 wickets quickly and our lead is cut to 40 points
