Two hours for nine. Only one ball of that will make the highlights.

Broad gets Khawaja after a four hour 47. Presume Head will get a lot of short stuff.

Anderson chips in by knocking over Marsh's stumps. Aussies in a bit of a hole here.

And Root gets Carey. Bit of a bonus. Next ball after a six.

Wood v Tail?

As I said earlier, I thought the pitch would be worse to bat on that people were saying, but I didnt think it was this bad. Australia have struggled to get timing on anything. Unless Smith does something Smith like, this could be a drawn series on the way

Say that as Starc skies one.... Smith might as well have a bit of a bash

Brook takes England to tea. Great session for the hosts. New ball due soon. Not sure how tempting that is currently.

At 180/7, with a tailender at the crease and both batsman having to re-play themselves in after tea, why the flaming **** is Harry Brook out there being asked to send down 65 mph dobbers?

Some of Stokes ideas I like.... some of them just seem insane to me.

Vaughan thinks it's because Smith doesn't want to get out to him, so it gets into his head.

Maybe like Vaughan getting out to Ponting, at Trent Bridge in 05....

Terrible decision that... was missing leg by an absolute mile.

Broad particularly has the ball moving around again.

Handy partnership. 30 so far. Still slow going though.

Aussies have the lead. Tail is wagging, very frustrating for England
