As we did in the dribble, after an inproved start to the comp we very quickly reverted to type

And can't blame The Hundred for this one because Somerset are equally depleted.

Somerset barely needed half the overs to knock off our paltry total. I think it was the same in the last game

I wonder how often we win at Gosforth? Still... keeps the ex Gosforth man happy

And the last two games are against Warwickshire- top of the table with 5 wins from 5 games...and Gloucestershire who are in 2nd place ( 4 wins from 6).
Alex Lees said the pitch was seamer friendly and implied the middle order were reckless - sounds as if they were Bazballing away ( or trying to!) on a pitch totally unsuited to that style of batting.
Somerset had few problems scoring rapidly though, so the bowling can't have been any good either.

Potts has finally played a game...... Yorkshire Don'tmentionthebleedingobvious's must have finally been embarrassed into playing him after not releasing him so that he could have played 4 or 5 matches for his own team back home

If they had released him, then he would have had some white ball cricket to loosen him up and might not have gone around the park when they did finally play him. I'm guessing his 15 balls today will have been his first white ball deliveries for a year

If Durham were in the same group as Yorkshire I could understand the game they're playing, but we aren't, so all they've done is shot themselves in the foot

Not a disastrous batting performance from us today

A late charge from Bedders has pushed our score right up. It took him 16 balls to go from 100 to 153 and exactly when we needed it. He's holed out now, though, but that seems to have been carnage over the last 3 overs. The sort of thing we concede all the time, but rarely seem able to do

2 fours from Drissell off the last 2 balls takes us to 338.

Won in the end but made it much more difficult than it should have been - when I was out walking I had the commentary on and the equation was something close to.9 an over for 11/12 overs...then the signal dropped out - by the time I.got back Warwickshire looked certain to win only for Bushnell to save the day. He has done well in this competition- Glover though continues to look like a poor signing.

Yes, really hard to cope with all of the absentees but the annoying thing is we probably should have won a couple more games- batting collapses after solid starts.
Drissell has done well, not a world beater but seems like a useful white ball bowler and Pretorius has improved after a slow start to his stint.

the really good news is that Leesy and Bedders are still scoring runs ahead of the final stage of the CC. It'll be interesting to see if Capt Beaky and the corporal can revitalise their batting form and if Robbo and Clarky can remember which end of the bat to hold

That's the slight concern I have about these last few red ball games - a couple of batters out of nick and the non playing Hundred ones out of practice. Hopefully Beaky and the corporal will get some runs in the last white ball game.
