I suppose we should be able to bat out the day if required...but I'm not confident. Can't afford soft dismissals at the best of times ...especially after the opposition scores 700!

It occurs to me that, even without the daft decision at the toss, we might still be in this situation heading onto day 4

Had we batted first and had we even batted nearly as well as Warks, we probably wouldn't have kept going until we reached 700. I reckon if we'd got to the end of day one just shy of 500 we'd have declared either very early on day 2 or maybe even late on day one. They could easily have scored 700 anyway and we'd still be going into the final day 150 behind and 2 down

and you'll notice that we stuck with our attack throughout and only brought on a 6th bowler after about 60 overs, despite conceding nearly 6 an over, whereas Warks bowled us out by employing 9 bowlers, 7 of whom took wickets

So what I'm saying is the toss probably hasn't completely changed the match situation.... we've just been comprehensively out played and out thought

according to the beeb, 517 is the highest total scored by a team before being asked to follow on and Warks top 3 set a new FC record when they all scored at least 178. The previous record was 147

Rushy has a calf niggle, seemingly and Boland batted with a runner because of a sore heel..... at least he'll probably have a week before he has to bowl on it again

All 4 of the teams who lost the entire first match to the weather are struggling to salvage something from game 2 against opposition who did get to play match 1.

he bowled 76 overs in total last season and might very well bowl more than that in this match alone..... and why not when we are hell bent on making him look like Murali

Ackers first innings nick behind came off his pad, seemingly. Having watched the Warks top 3 score a shed load of runs, he was very unhappy about the decision

and the ball for Clark's lbw decision was turning so sharply it was likely to miss leg stump by at least a foot, I'm told
