Notts have not been tardy in their over rate today, either. 96 overs by 6.10. Compare that to the test yesterday where, despite being forced to bowl spin at each end for what must have been about 14 or 15 overs, England only got in 74 overs by nearly 5.30. Without the umpires enforcing a spin only rule, those 74 overs would probably have taken them until 6pm, I reckon..... or 20 overs fewer than Notts managed today......shocking, really

Agreed about the close of play score and Clark- really daft shot at the best of times and even worse in the penultimate over of the day.
Lees and especially McKinney the stars of the day but I thought Turner did very well, settled in nicely and scored at a good lick without taking any unnecessary risks.

Looks like a good pitch and we have struggled with the ball if there's little assistance for the bowlers but hopefully we can rack up a really big score tomorrow so there are plenty of runs to play with. Looking at the batting to come we could easily cruise past 500...and just as easily be rolled over quickly.

I watched the highlights of McKinney's innings and it was an impressive knock. Authoritative and sometimes dismissive

First half of the day, Stone was really combative and chirpy every time the ball got crunched to the boundary. By the end of the day he was just walking back to his mark in silence. He went for a few.... quite a few. He'll be hoping for a change in fortune tomorrow

Seems as if the home pitches this year have been at the extreme ends - either batting paradise or the game over in a couple of days!

I guess our first priority in the morning is to try and get the last 2 wickets for less than 30 runs, but the curse of the tailenders might see them get 3 batting points from here

We are in a great position if we can polish the innings off early.... come out and have a thrash, then send them back in

I had planned to go today, given that tomorrow's forecast is quite poor. Sadly, family has got in the way again, just a different part to the last 2 days.

They didn't last long once we got out there this morning. 229 all out.

now we've enforced the follow on, presumably because of the forecast tomorrow, but Wagner hasn't bowled yet. Is he injured?
