I’ve been very impressed. A very cultured looking batsman. Shots all around the ground, everything behind the ball in defence and a good temperament. He didn’t get flustered when he got a bit becalmed. A quality player

Tom Lammonby must be the luckiest player I have ever seen. Hes scored about 120 runs in 3 innings vs us this year, and 119 of them have come from his outside edge, or after an umpire didnt think the pitching middle half way up ball was hitting the stumps.

He looks brilliant until you notice he has a little kink in his game where with very full balls (the almost halfvolley-short of a HV area), his instinct is to switch his weight back and play off his back foot, or he gets caught on the crease trying to stop his natural inclination to go back.... gets bowled or pinned in front a lot for that reason.

No one seems to realise and just bowls into his strength in the channel. If I were a captain, I'd put the guy in the team with the biggest inswinger on with the new ball, and just get him to bowl half volleys.

Maybe if we could somehow clone Zak Crawley and Hameed, you'd have Don Bradman.

He's looked very good today. He went off like a train and after an hour I was beginning to wonder if he would bring up his hundred before lunch. It looks ridiculous written down, but he was literally dealing exclusively in boundaries. Made it look really easy. Then Slater started to take a lot of the strike for himself, as did McCann and Hameed only brought up his fifty just before the lunch break. It was a good fight back by Durham in the afternoon and lots of wickets have fallen, but Hameed is still there closing in on 150
