The KL Rahul lbw dismissal does make me wonder whether or not the actual rules are applied correctly for lbw decisions. In this case, he got his bat tangled behind his pad as he brought it down, and the ball unquestionably hit pad first - but the assumption in the game seems to be that once it his the pad, the subsequent position of the bat becomes irrelevant.

The actual law contained in provision 36.1.5 states that "but for the interception, the ball would have hit the wicket".... the only thing actually relevant about pad vs bat first is, once it hits the pad first it is assumed the ball will continue on the same path from that interception point (law 36.2.1). In this case, "but for the interception" the ball would have hit the inside edge of Rahul's bat, not the stumps. Therefore by the rules, surely you then cannot be certain it will hit the stumps?

Its strange how the application of the law does not actually represent the rules. Obviously its a consistent application, so not calling foul play... but should these decisions be given out?

Nasser is saying Brydon Carse couldn't do anything to avoid that, but after Jadeja banged into him Carse put his arms round him to impede him as he tried to run off. How is that not obstructing the batter? He had his arm wrapped around his shoulder.... ok, the initial banging into each other was an accident, but why does Carse grab him?
