Hard to say. Sri Lanka should be used to batting on these but I do rate the England spinners so still fancy 230 would be a very tough task to chase. Even 220 ,as you say.

Still need a finish to get there though as Dean departs ?

Might not bat the 50 overs as Ecclestone falls to another smart stumping...216/8 , three more overs after this one.

253 should be enough...

NSB a terrific innings and she finished it off nicely in the last couple of overs. Sri Lanka will be rueing that dropped catch !

Be interesting to see how the bowlers get on... particularly Linsey smith....lot of lefties in Sri Lanka batting line up and England's bowlers don't see a lot of that....well known as well that smith struggles a touch to lefties

Someone in the England squad called Danni! When I watched women's cricket they all had public school head girl names like Kate, Sarah and Rachel. There's even someone selected with a phonetic spelling, like an American female news anchor (Linsey).

Still, it's not going to stop them from winning.
I always say that everybody's right.

With all the lefties I wonder if England considered leaving out smith at all, and picking the extra seamer?

Vishmi with back to back boundaries maybe that will get Sri Lanka going...scoring at less than 4 an over right now

Athapaththu having to retire hurt a huge blow to Sri Lanka...

Not that she was exactly monstering the bowling : a very restrained start with just 18 runs from six overs but at least they hadn't lost a wicket.

Gunaratne has started brightly though...

Sciver brunt doing her usual with the ball these days and going for runs....sadly not an allrounder anymore I don't think...just dosent bowl enough to be consistent anymore...runs flowing off of her

These two bats putting up a pretty effective show...England could do with a wicket or two. Ecclestone being on at last might just bring that...

...and even as I type : she does !

Ecclestone bowls Athapaththu as she continues her brilliant spell : 6 overs , 4/5 :salute

116/5 and I reckon that is the game over. Might get some sleep...
