I spotted that Aus were in a bit of trouble 4 down for not many, but I didn't think England had posted anything like enough, so when I was logging on a few mins ago, I was expecting to find that Aus had won and I was half expecting to find that they did it without losing another wicket

Quite the beating to win with 10 overs to spare after being in a whole world of trouble early on and with their most in form batter out injured. This win will have hurt England enough to ensure that they don't even make the final

Somehow Sri Lanka are still alive in the comp despite one win from 6, thanks to all the washouts.

It's an unlikely series of results that sees them through: NZ to beat India narrowly, NZ to then get thumped by England, Bangladesh best India, and SL thrash Pakistan in their last game. That would see SL and NZ both on 6, with big margins needed to overturn SLs NRR deficit behind NZ.

Theoretically SL could go through ahead of India if both finish on 6, but would require an improbably enormous turnaround in NRR.

Think Sri Lanka dream is just that. Most likely India going to finish 4th unless Bangladesh knock them over...though they'll be lucky to get there after losing to all their main opponents. I'm sure they won't mind

Didn't expect England to hold Australia off with that score - always looked 60-70 light on that pitch. Early wickets seemed to give them a sniff but this Australian side doesn't have the weakness that most hampers England : ie , a tail that starts at 5. Actually pleased to see Capsey getting some runs this time , along with the consistent Dean ; but otherwise England really do depend utterly on the efforts of the top 4. Which is unlikely to get past Australia unless they have a truly Bad Day.

But we probably knew that coming in.

I do think Wyatt should play against NZ , for Lamb or Dunkley , as she just might make a serious difference ; but somehow doubt they are going to make a change this late in the tournament. So will just be hoping Knight and/or Sciver-Brunt goes big in the semi so they can at least make the final.

you just know that from this point onwards, the NZ reply is going to be hamstrung by repeated rain delays and adjusted DLS targets

chasing 300 and plenty, they'll be lucky to cobble together any sort of score. The schedule for this tournament in terms of venue choice and start times has really screwed them

SA crumbled against Australia just as they did earlier to England. Seems they struggle against spin... Going to be a very easy Aus win confirming the semis as expected.

SA collapse in a heap again. England will fancy the SF, but I have no faith that they won't just fall apart themselves instead.

Not a lot to play for in this one : though England will want to win in order to bag the higher spot in case of a washed out semi final... and NZ have pride.

NZ win toss and bat : Wyatt-Hodge in for Lamb , not before time. In less nice news for England , Ecclestone seems to have hurt her bowling arm diving in the field and is off the field ...though the sub fielder (Lamb) has just caught Bates to give them the first breakthrough. NZ 22/1 from six....
