Five Oscars between them is a strong class.

Hoffman quite a bit younger than the other two.

Most remembered I would imagine for being Tom Hagen in the Godfather films. I still remember him cropping up on Scottish Football coverage on the BBC one match, apparently a big soccer fan. Was a bit surreal to see him debating the merits of Rangers offside trap with Ally McCoist.

I think it would be fair to say that the Godfather remains arguably the most widely appreciated film of all time, or certainly in the top 3..... so he leaves behind a strong legacy.

A shot at Glory. Not a film I know, but explains the scottish football/Ally McCoist connection. I may have to try and watch it

Seemingly McCoist received a christmas card from Duvall every year after they worked together

Sedaka wrote an amazing list of songs and hits.

Some of them he recorded himself. My favourite is Wheeling West Virginia. I listened to it this afternoon when I heard of his death. Good song.

Indeed. I didn't know here by name, but there were a couple of things I remembered about her.

Hi GJ. Can you help me with the word 'bogan'. Inoffensive like blue collar, or divisive like chav?

Similar to chav, but not the same. Not the same as a red neck, either, but having similarities.

The best one word would be uncultured. Most bogans are happy with their standing in life - and as I have said before: we (Australians) are all bogans to some degree. It depends on the subject matter. Bogan is not a comment on the quality of the person, but on the personality/upbringing/style.

A "cashed up bogan" (love the term, dislike the people) would be our version of chavs, I think.

That sounds like it doesn't imply prejudice. So if you called someone a bogan they wouldn't feel insulted...

Thanks for the reply (and Sussex).
