Yes, won the toss but seemed to be playing for a draw from the outset. Those two drops in their first innings might have cost 8s a win but these things happen and we comprehensively outplayed them.

Good to see Bedders back in form. Gay might well be a miss if England do the sensible thing instead of the ludicrous idea of asking Rew to open or Smith to open, or Bethell to open

Raine back to his very best, which begs the question of whether at 34 he has become a div 2 bowler (not my observation, but something put to me at the end of last season)

The returning Stokes ought to be a big asset to us in the next 2 away games

Excellent win by the women today.

Replying to 289 from Warks, they were 119-3 at the half way point with Wilson and Armitage (who just can't buy a run atm) both back in the hutch, so I expected a bit of a slide into ignominy, but not a bit of it. 100 for Villiers and an 85 from Windsor with some useful support from Heath and Grace T, saw them home with a couple of overs to spare. A well judged chase by the looks of it

A morale boosting win from the middle order, because they could easily have fluffed that

3fer with good economy from Villiers too. At the interval I thought we'd screwed up, because she'd only bowled 9 overs, despite being the best on show by some margin, so I wondered if Armitage had 'done a Lees' and miscalculated. Didn't matter in the end

Was surprised we chased that down especially after those key wickets at the start. That should boost confidence in those middle order batters.

Didn't hear anything about what the trouble was. Good that he's back and also Ackermann getting runs after a prolonged slump. One- or giveh Clark is struggling- both will be needed if Gay gets the England gig.
