South Africa 400-3 now...it does seem that batsman-friendly pitches are treated differently from bowler-friendly pitches.

The thing is, while the former produces boring cricket, the latter produces exciting cricket. The ICC need to be more balanced in the way they address this issue.

Dropped catches are excusable in this sort of match and both sides have been guilty. Long partnerships, stood in the heat for long periods, long bowling stints, all bound to lead to loss of concentration bordering on boredom.

in the history since they had the panel that looked at pitches only 3 games have ever been reported.

I remember in the nineties, every time a batter's stats were flashed up, their highest score always seemed to be against England. Not so true now, but Hamish has that 311* at the Oval. Not so far off that now.

don't need to go past england score, deficit of 50-100 is fine.
England would then have to bat, and if somehow Eng lose 10 wickets, SA will chase what ever they need or bat for the draw.
