No one knows the truth of that, or even if KP mentioned Strauss in the texts. The ECB accepted KP's word that there was nothing defamatory in them. Those texts haven't been seen outside of the SA dressing room, and they leaked their existence, arguably to their own ends. Pietersen says he called Strauss a doos in conversation with SA players.
I feel sympathetic towards KP (some would say predictably). He lost the captaincy when the ECB leaked a document they asked him to write. The dressing room started taking the piss out of him with the fake KP id. He took solace in two SA players who were in his IPL side. And then they went to the press with his complaints! No doubt KP was in the wrong, but how many of us would look bad if friends revealed our private thoughts about the workplace. Or would strike out if pressured as KP was by the ECB that summer.
