You can kind of understand KPs paranoia after his private meetings with the ECB were laid out for all to see in the national press.

Still interesting for ESPN to say who it isn't but not who it is.

Think it was extremely silly and short sighted of the ECB to leak information regarding these "negotiations".
They have basically ruled out any chance of "negotiating" with KP. They could have just stayed mum and if it ever came to a point where they thought that KP is too good to be let go, they could have privately negotiated with KP to miss the NZ Tests and by saying in the media that he has been rested to try out youth. If they do that now, they will be seen as "too weak" as it will be fairly clear in the media as well as to the other players that it is KP and not the ECB, who is calling the shots with regards to his selection/rest.
Of course, it depends a lot on what exactly KP's demands were. Did he want to just miss the one series against NZ next summer or miss early summer Tests each year? I'd probably be okay with the former. It allows us to try out youth against a depleted NZ side and players like Strauss have been allowed to have a test series off before.
But the latter could set a dangerous precedent.

I can possibly understand why KP wants to have the NZ series off. The test summer starts a bit too early next year(not that the ECB can do anything about it with the Champs Trophy, Ashes, etc). He will hardly get to play any IPL next year.
However, if he wants to miss early summer tests each year and is not prepared to miss even a week or two of the IPL, then thats unacceptable and allowing him to do that will set very dangerous precedents.

It will be interesting to see whether KP signs his next central contract or not. That would make clear what he is thinking. I would prefer to wait until then.

Former OZ cricketer Richie Benaud on parody accounts,

Others may feel it is funny but I agree with what he says. I never find it funny and don't follow any of them.

Rumour going around that this was one or more of the other England players but they have all denied it.

And you do realise that the Richie Benaud Twitter A/C is a parody in itself?

I just dont understand whats all the fuss about. Its a Twitter A/c. KP is not the only one who has a parody. Others are gracious enough to accept it. Sadly, KP has too big an ego to accept what is just a harmless joke. :no

RB's a/c maybe a parody but it won't change my view about those sadists. Let it be a parody a/c of KP or Strauss thankfully I don't follow. Bandon? he is always biased in his opinion :D Once he said he knows Shillingford wouldn't have gone to the IPL. So homer tweets asked how does he know it? Bandon replied as I said he wouldn't have gone means it is right

If KP doesn't play any more test cricket then it would be England's loss. Not to mention the fans.

KP is a total arse off the field but on it he is a quality test batsman and while he is available we need him.

This all reminds me of Ian Botham. Of course in those days there was no mass media - 24 hr rolling news coverage, facebook, Twitter etc - so his bad boy attitude could well have been blown up to many times worse than KP had the same sort of coverage been available then.

Let KP get on with batting (and occasionally bowling) for England and accept that he comes with baggage as do a lot of talented sportsmen.

Used to be that after England lost, there would be a mass of calls for Botham to be given total charge of the English game. He inherited that untested messiah role from Boycott. Who got it from Illingworth, who was unfortunately actually given the job eventually.

Now that Pietersen has publicly claimed he has problems in the England dressing room this dispute has moved to an uglier level and can only be solved by him leaving that dressing room immediately. The team have clearly underperformed most of this year and it's not beyond belief that Pietersen's presence has contributed to that. If he's unhappy get him out before it harms the team anymore.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

First off: I never said that about Shillingford. What I said that there was no more reason to think that he would have gone to the IPl than not and that the fact was that he didn't go to the IPL so there was no point in speculating otherwise. You may not agree; you may think I'm dead wrong and that's fine, but at least don't misrepresent me.

Second: Of course I'm biased, everyone has their own bias. But that does not mean that I, or anyone else, is automatically wrong. If you think I'm wrong show where and why, don't just yell 'bias'. It's a logical fallacy.
