theres a lot of noise around however, KP has admited that he sent texts and that they were derogatory though the exact content is unknown outside of KP and those that recieved them.

Pietersen admitted to the texts being “provocative”. It seems a strange description unless he means it provoked the recipients to reveal them to the media. The first reactions of the recipients were probably mirth, then surprise, followed by a delight about how they may be used.

Staying quiet, a wise move. He could come out with the most heartfelt thank you for Strauss and the media would pounce on it, read too much into it, say he's trying to charm his way back into England's good books and in the process forget completely about Strauss.

I think he's finally decided to keep a low profile and let his cricket do the talking. I believe he's not been 'twittering' for a while also.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

He's been keeping schtum for a week at least now despite journalists pestering him at every turn, infact it's even become a bit of a joke between some of the media types that he isn't talking.

Bit disappointing that Nasser Hussain writes for the Mail.

From reading the article it doesn't look like diplomacy has overtaken taking KP out, as the Mail's battle plan.

Giles Clarke's statement that the meeting with KP well be attended by Cook, Flower and a national selector is interesting. Does that mean Geoff Miller?

It's hardly suprising with the ECB and KP no longer jumping when ever the press decides to print anything and the cricket qatching public finally getting bored of being spoon fed what is now essentially 2 week old news that the press in an effort to keep the story going would decide to go for Strauss the Martyr.

The fact that all the parties where due to meet in the near future anyway will be forgotten, etc etc.
