Bops, Finn and Morgs. Now Flower and Cook don't seem to be against him. Last I heard Trott wasn't against him and I don't think Prior either will be. It is more about 3 senior players v KP.

It should depend on what the captain, coach and of course the former captain Strauss thinks as he was the player who was affected by those texts.If especially Strauss thinks it is fine then I don't know what is the problem.

I just find it rather amusing that when senior players have made comments such as the one below there should be any suggestion that they would not welcome KP back instantly if the captain and coach wished it:

‘Straussy has got so much respect as captain and we all support his decisions. We will back him to the hilt whatever he and the ECB decide to do.’

It rather depends upon how one defines “positive”, in the context of the outcome of any talks. It is glib and facile to talk about cricket only taking place on a cricket ground. Pietersen’s actions will have had a reaction in the profession way beyond just the other players in the dressing room at the time of his spiteful texts, but the ECB need to be most concerned about the likelihood of his transgressing again.

This is not about dressing room “politics”. They have always been there and will never disappear. It is about someone being snide about colleagues behind their backs.

As y_129-7 says, having Pietersen back in the side is not worth it. Even if he were a far better player than he is, it still wouldn’t be.

To say that if Strauss, who will no longer have to work with Pietersen, is happy about it, one cannot see a problem, defies all reason.

With any luck, a lot of this “inside information” will turn out to be simply wishful thinking and, as Kim says, pure guesswork.

The point was, D/L, that all these players were very happy to preach Captain, Coach and unity when the decisions were going one direction so it would be rather strange for them to suddenly decide that they would not do the same under Cook now wouldn't it. luckily however Swann is more than happy to continue backing his even if it isn't Strauss.
