Strange comments from Cook today; the reason for KPs continued absense is a break down in trust and respect between him and the rest of the team however KP will be meeting with Collier and Morris while all three are in Sri Lanka.

If the issue is one of relations between KP and the other players then what point does meetings with the management actually serve?

Pietersen's rehabilitation is clearly well under way. Cook yesterday and Strauss today have made pleasing noises and KP now has spoken in public about going to NZ. Is it all's well that ends well I wonder.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

It depends upon how one defines a good ending to this tawdry episode, I suppose.

I was rather hoping that he'd make his comeback in the ODI series in India. Just seems fitting and at least Morris et al would get a bit of a chuckle.

Worth remembering that KP retired from T20s before eveything blew up.

So he wouldnt be playing even if he hadnt sent the texts etc that mean he isnt playing

Isn't that a bit disingenuous Kim? He stopped playing T20 because the ECB wouldn't let him stop playing just 50 over cricket. He wanted to play T20. And he made himself available for all formats a long time before the final T20 squad was announced.

About two pages has been removed.

Little discussion on KPs text about playing in NZ. No interest in this issue anymore?

Just for the sake of saying, I'm not interested in what KP might have done in this series, or in India. It's a pointless exercise. He should be there in SL and India, but as he's not, no one can say what he would have done.

Why should he be there in SL and India? As far as I'm concerned he retired from limited overs cricket knowing the rules (he's got the world and his friend representing/advising him) and he is still the subject of disciplinary proceedings.

It would be great to have KP playing for England - but only when the tail stops wagging the dog.
