Only in his own opinion of course, in the words of Morris he isn't at present.

Yes, unless he’s a very slow learner, experience should have taught Pietersen not to trust his own opinion.

He always seems to be advised by someone doesn't he, wonder if he can even make his own breakfast with out a high power brain storming session.

Being associated with Piers Morgan doesn't help KPs cause, the slimeball.

It doesat really make much sense to me. 1. A million quid is a flea bite for the ECB 2. Surely noone anywhere gives any employee a contract because they fear he/she will sue if they dont? 3. If they give him a deal and the issues arent sorted. wont the legal threat be even bigger as he will then be in contract wheraes in a week from now he wont. 4. Surely KP wont want this to come to court if it means the ECB have fill rein to expose all aspects of his behaviour? Hw wont want, for exampple. James Taylor to stand there and detail what happened on that incident.

Whatever the rights/wrongs of this and whatever you think of KP/The ECB if he is being bullish about legal action, it musty make things worse.

Maybe releasing the article to hint about legal action is another tactic like he tried by retiring, only to do an Afridi later on . :hmmm

If its a tactic its a bad one. The moment you start threatening legals, attitude just harden. It becomes a macho thing.

Piers Morgan doesnt help much either - esp as he made such a fuss about Broad being associated with the fake twitter account. By his logic, KP is assocaited with his bonkers tweets.

As a West Indies fan, the latest twist gives me a sense of deja vu....
:halo:
In my attempts to read between the lines, this is what I think I see:

1) KP will play the entire season of the 2013 IPL, no matter what.

2) Right now, KP doesn't seem to be really bothered one way or another if he ever gets picked for England again, despite his pronouncements to the contrary.

3) The legal action might just be arising from similar experiences with regards to the WICB - after all, Gayle and KP are good friends, and have been in contact!

Pietersen's chances of winning such a court case against the ECB are approximately between zero and zero.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

What makes you so sure?

"The legal advice strengthens Pietersen’s position with England, although gaining a central contract will not necessarily guarantee him a place in Andy Flower’s side, with the coach one of the main obstacles to him resuming his international career....After service longer than 12 months, contracted staff are considered full-time employees in the eyes of the law. Pietersen has been centrally contracted by the ECB for six years and the failure to renew a fixed-term contract is technically dismissal by his employer. Central contracts have been in existence for 12 years but historically there has always been a cricketing reason around ability to perform or fitness that has led to a player’s deal not being renewed. In Pietersen’s case there is no cricketing reason to dismiss him. He will, in essence, have been sacked for disciplinary reasons....There is no question Pietersen has been hard to manage and Flower is tired of dealing with his unpredictable behaviour. He could be accused of unsettling team-mates and the management structure, or behaviour unbecoming of an England player, but the central part of the case against Pietersen, the messages he sent to the South African side, would be very vulnerable in court....The Daily Telegraph understands it is the content of the messages which remains the main issue. Pietersen has not divulged what he said to the South African players, leaving the ECB backed into a corner legally."

When KP retired from one day games he effectively broke the contract he signed only 8 months earlier and when he admitted sending texts he almost certainly breached an aspect of the code of behaviour in the contract. I'm also pretty sure that the ECB have a list of misdemeanors to add to to that.

According to the Telegraph, the ECB still don't know exactly what was in these text messages....

And if he's going to be dismissed for disciplinary reasons, then surely there has to be a hearing, under British law?
