Reminds me of a story someone told about Alf Ramsey.

Alf was coming home on the train having just been to an FA meeting. This guy was a friend of Alf's and they bumped into each other on the train and were chatting away in good spirits until one of them got off the train.

It was only when the friend got home that he saw the news on TV saying Ramsey had been sacked as England manager. Alf had not even mentioned it on the entire journey and was acting as if everything was normal.
