I don't know, I did see a fair few Becks selections but agreed not as many as some others - but, when you are looking at the greatest footballing franchise of the last twenty years, you would perhaps expect a relatively significant portion of the greatest 1000 players to come from there (30/40 maybe). Part of Beckham's appeal was his resilient nature I think.

He doesn't have a point when he says top 1000. Top 100, then yes. You don't play 100 odd games for England and be the best crosser of a ball in premier league history on hard work and desire.
