No its normal. Charity Sheild is first Sunday of August with the league starting the week after... and the football league playing the saturday before.

The Olympics delayed the football start last year by two or three weeks hence you might assume this year is early


The first Saturday in August is normal? I'm sure it use to be the second week, but I could be wrong?

That and clubs opting to play one less midweek game, the original start date was 10th August.

Yeah it is him. What an age to be taken away, 27!!!

Strange that some new agencies have him dying in a car crash and others saying heart attack... I think the latter seems right because his club president has released a statement saying he played yesterday and had no health issues reported.

RIP, thoughts with his family!

Anyone watch Swansea City - Fall and Rise?

Very gripping documentary, had some idea of Swansea's plight but their turnaround is absolutely remarkable and how they planned their way to success is one of inspiration.

Anzhi's owner is a nutter. Sacked the manager after 2 weeks in charge and put the whole first team squad up for sale!
