How many of those would take a L1 or L2 job ??

only the first 3...the rest have egos, particularly Curbishley who has stated numerous times he will only manage in the Prem.

They need a win tonight, or the league is almost unachievable

Ramos continues his fine form, I make that 4 in 3, not bad for a defender.

Hope Powell was an alienated character who wouldnt have lasted two press conferences in the mens game. While her outright and bothersome personality is said to have bullied the FA into improving investment in the Women's National Team, she was probably a decade past her sell by date before they finally chopped her.

She is said to never have turned up to matches ever, she didnt have a scout network, never talked to any players or coaches about who was coming through, ignored arguably the best English player they had for the last tournament on the apparent grounds she didnt know who she was (even though she was top scorer 3 seasons in a row), had her other best player openly refusing to play for the national team unless she got sacked, and had pissed off everyone in her squad after publicly outing them all as failures and cowards for not wanting to take a penalty..... there is then accusations that every new player in the squad was treated poorly, leading Powell to only pick ageing people she got on with.

And thats before we talk about results..... and in recent memory, they were disastrous.... even casting it longer, while the womens game has grown a lot, England has always had a relatively well funded and popular women's game compared to some places, and yet they made no ground despite a surge in investment... in fact, under Hope Powell they got worse considering what was happening around her.

The FA even didnt want her for an administration job in women's football, thats how low her popularity and respect has gone.... she has no chance in the men's game.

If she left in 2009, after the draw for the Women's Euro's meant England may as well have had a bye to the final, she could have maybe got a job somewhere with "finalist" on her CV.

In regards to Helena Costa bagging a job in mens professional football, i'm surprised Venkys didn't even consider her for the Blackburn Rovers position.

Going back to this B team thing.

Would the B teams be allowed to compete in the cups? Would clog up the FA cup. The league cup would have total confusion as most PL teams play their B teams in this already.

My main issue with the B team thing is what benefits does it actually bring? I can hardly see the standard of English players/Premier League improving if these youngsters are playing in the 5th tier. Also, wouldn't any Premier League team just loan their players to a Championship club instead...

Where Greg Dyke is involved, it's always about money. Forget the spiel about it benefitting the England team and all that. It's just about the money.
