I still think it's a very good idea that could be rolled out around the grounds. Then again, it's probably such a good idea that it will be disregarded out of hand

I think there is scope for double header Twenty20. Some matches are not well attended, so combine the two less glamourous midweek evening games on a Sunday afternoon and attendances are bound to be higher. Players will also get more time to recover (providing County Championship fixtures don't shortly follow the T20s)

The big change of the T20 competition was to spread it over the season, and playing two games over a day goes against that. Also, it only works financially if you play twice, and it's unlikely that outside London there is sufficient catchment to get enough people to do that. Still, if they try it, and the people come, it will be viewed as having worked. I would have thought spectators would prefer one game per visit to the ground, especially with the waiting around between games.
I always say that everybody's right.

T20 matches may be spread but they often sandwiched in between County Championship games, giving players less time to recover and prepare in between matches. Also there are T20 games in midweek (in Yorkshire's case on Tuesday 1st July v Leicestershire and Wednesday 2nd July v Durham both at Headingley). I can't see many folk motivated to travel through rush hour traffic into Leeds or book half days off work to attend these matches.

Also Powelly makes a good point whether a lengthy pilgrimage to a Twenty20 match is worth the hassle, but throw a double header (or even a Magic Weekend) and the supporters are likely to make an occasion out of it like international cricket.

I don't buy into a pitch can't take 2 games in one-day ( although im at a loss to explain what happened at Lords on Saturday )

LVCC games take 96 overs, List A take 100 overs, Finals Day takes 120 overs

If you can't produce a pitch to have 80 overs on, whilst having the option to roll it between games, there are big problems.

Oh yes, SEt20 matches are double headers. Went to one in Bingley 2 years ago to see Yorkshire 2nds v England U19s, first game started at 11.30am and 2nd game at 3pm, great do it was. If anything the 2nd game was better as the players were more fine tuned.

Bresnan and Woakes are at Edgbaston for the televised T20 game after being released by the ECB.
