I'm quite happy with that as I'll be at my daughter's school for her end of year awards ceremony so I probably won't get home till 9!

Also, we'll be able to watch the Test without any interruption.

I hoped there may have been some middle ground like moving them to 7.45 which would be preferable to European audiences.

Just reading some of the press about the Goalie substitution for Holland. Words like genius, staggering, brave, and yet I sat here hoping the ball would not go out of play so the substitution could not be made because it was clearly the smart move. Rudd Van Neistelroy immediately said "yes this is the right move as he has a longer reach". He wasn't in the least surprised.

For me the biggest shock was that they still had a sub left at the end of extra time. Clearly this was planned from the beginning if all went well.

Please tell me they've done away with the third fourth play off. If not, I have no problem with that being at 1am in the morning.

Oh, yes for the Indians too. What are the exact timings btw?

Both are on at 9pm, our time.

I prefer that to 5pm.

1.30 am in India then. Not terrible. Same timing as the 2nd match of the day during the round of 16 and the quarters. A few more sleepless nights but its worth it, ain't it?

Not sure why 9 pm should be a problem for English viewers. Even if the match goes to extra time and penalties, it would still be over before midnight, wouldn't it?

This World Cup has actually re-invigorated my interest in football. Since the 2010 World Cup, I had become very much a "big tournament " (World Cup, Euros, Confed) follower whilst watching the odd PL/La Liga/UCL match here and there. Now I'm officially in love with the sport again. Will try and follow the entire PL season this year. Come on Manchester United!

5pm is busy time for me, so I'll take 9 every time. 20 years ago, staying up till midnight wouldn't be a worry.........now? difficult!

Come to think of us, we were awake till 4.30 am watching the quarterfinal yesterday plus an additional half an hour just to get over the euphoria of such a intense finish!

There's a programme on sky sports at the moment called 'fooball's greatest international teams', which is focussing on Brazil's 82 team. Funny, as they didn't get past the second phase in 82. Great to watch though. Eder, Zico, Falcao, Socrates etc.

Unfortunately, I don't think they have. I genuinely hope though that performances in that match aren't considered seriously while deciding the Golden Ball/Golden Gloves. Arguably the most meaningless and pressure-free match of the tournament.

Brazil's 1970 team is the best ever by far.

Yeah, won't argue, though they were before my time. Always liked the Dutch team of the late 80's - early 90's. Their 1990 world cup team failed miserably though.

Kinda funny that Brazil are appealing Silvas yellow card.

Seriously on what grounds are they appealing? :hmmm
