My point was different though. Yes, when India raised this issue, they may not (and I am pretty sure) be entirely innocent. My only issue is with the way its unfolded – Prior and Stokes testimony. Again, its reported in the press, you can always keep saying its hearsay, but there’s a difference between a report like this and speculation and unsubstantiated reports. Else there is no point in reading any news at all.

Guess some people wont get it though....

Some people, though, may be able to read between the lines, not have such a partisan view of things and, even if they have, resist the temptation to believe anything that may seem to support it.

I see your point Dilbert. I guess the legal person taking over for the Anderson hearing should be able to unravel the testimony more forensically than the match ref.

Apparently the judge who has been brought in is an Aussie, so Anderson should be ok as they invented the sledge and love a bit of bar room brawling.

Interestingly Cook said on the Monday that he saw nothing and there was no talk about the incident in the dressing room immediately afterwards. The first he knew about the incident was on that Monday, so where was he at the time. Was he way back in the corridor and saw heard nothing or already in the dressing room which means he must have passed Jadeja to get there. If he was in the corridor and saw and heard nothing it could hardly be a big shouting match or a loud scuffle.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Interesting piece of national stereotyping. Actually, "sledging" has been around since the game began and long before it was first played by an Aussie.

Ah yes that is true, down the years verbals have been used by many a cricketer to an opposing player, especially fast bowlers. However, it is normally accepted the term "sledge" is of Australian origin.

I just hope that's the end of the matter but I'm not sure Dhoni will be happy.

Jadega was appealing against his fine, so presumably the appeal was upheld.

As usual the winners are the lawyers, financially anyway. Must have cost the respective boards a few bob.

Find this spat as a pathetic attempt by India to create a rivalry similar to The Ashes
"Stats are there to be broken" Dominic Cork
"They took all our players away, banned our captain and we still came away with a ten-wicket victory" Jason Gillespie
"You won't get anywhere slouching about half out of bed" Geoffrey Boycott

Maybe a lack of evidence?

Looks like it fizzled out due to lack of impartial witnesses and CCTV. The latter will frustrate the Indians. David Hopps suggests on cricinfo that ICC officials feel put out that a player (Dhoni) has made a level three allegation, rather than the match referee.

Nowhere to go with this. The only repercussion possible now is if it leads to further antagonism down the road.
