afaik the same thing happened a few years ago with makalele when he was at Chelsea and the French coach picked him

seems a bit weird that you would want to play someone who isn't interested in being there

i'm sure they said last week that qualifying games will be held on 6 different nights of the week during the campaign as UEFA try to spread games out to maximise TV revenue

I must admit, it does give Monday evenings a bit more life.

good thing about it from the perspective of the clubs with players on international duty is they aint gonna be arriving back sometime on a Thursday to get ready for a game on the Saturday as used to happen
