At the time KP was relieved of his contract, polls were running at 80% in favour of him returning to the side. A couple I've seen today, have been around 55%. Although it's much harder to see KP playing again, because of the book, and his lack of a county (and because he won't), the figures may well indicate that more are preferring to go on without him, even if they felt he shouldn't have been dropped.

Now that KP and Prior have gone it leaves only Bell as the most senior batsman in the top order and I'm far from convinced that Cook likes him very much. I think at the first drop in form Bell's future will be under scrutiny as Cook would dearly like to see him go and end up with a fully malleable group of young players around him.

I would say surely that is outside the realms of possibility, but then again, it is the England Cricket team.

That would make it even worse as Bell is only four centuries behind Cook's record of 25 centuries. A record incidentally that KP was closing in on.

Both might be vulnerable. Their form has been patchy for a few years, and newer players have done well. Maybe the Ashes/UAE/SA axis might change things.

The authenticity of this is questionable to me as it effectively contains a criticism of Andy Flower i.e:

"The document then solemnly observes that Flower did not speak to Pietersen during the final Test in Sydney or, indeed, for the rest of the tour."

Surely a dossier about Pietersen would hardly highlight such bad behaviour by Flower.

So, he was very unpopular and toxic, no one wanted to be around him, but the main reason they sacked him was because he was socialising with team mates rather then sitting in his room?
