Kevin Pietersen's Autobiography.

What's buzzing in the world of cricket....

After reading some of the autobiography on internet today, i have an opinion that he was made a scape goat by ECB. It is poor man management from the ECB committee members and think tank. Due to their inept man management they have lost their ATG batsman. Both parties seem to be wrong in some instance or other but why only one party was made an scapegoat. It is totally unfair the way ECB conducts itself. With such a bad management no one will prosper as a cricketer under them. Not even those cricketers who accept to bow to them and speak what their management wants. I agree with KP that Andy built a "regime of fear"rather than a team.

I mentioned on this thread that there's a two page email from Dravid on playing spin, which is reprinted in full in the book. I thought you might be interested in that Adi.

Clarke or Downton, or both, have to be sacrificed.

Pietersen reported bullying and there was a meeting about it in Bangladesh. George Dobell on Switch Hit on Cricinfo, has said a couple of times that players have told him about bullying, off the record.

Dobell has been excellent this year. About the time of him saying the 2010-11 Ashes winners were one of the best five teams ever, and then pasting them after a single defeat in Dubai, I made some negative comments about his writing, but I enthusiastically retract those.

About that time he posted on here.

I don't think so. He only made a few posts then disappeared.

I wonder if KP has planned the follow up?

That'r right. He spoke at Kim's funeral wearing the Showaddywaddy jacket that Kim (a Showaddywaddy fan) had bought in an auction. Kim was a bit worse for wear at the time and in the cold light of sobriety felt he paid a little over the odds for it.

I got the Kindle version of this autobiography . That Rahul email you mentioned is in Chapter 10 titled "Friends". I will read it later during weekend and then compare if Rahul gives any different idea about playing spin than what our coach and discussion with other team mates give. Still anything what Rahul talks about technique and temperament has to be tried practically in club matches. It will be worth at least for that.

The 9th chapter is titled Let me through, I'm a Left-Arm Spin doctor. I think that will be another interesting one as he has got lot of criticism about playing leftie spinners.

Nothing KP has said it is yet to be proved.

Proof is pretty much irrelevant. It would be like Marie Antoinette saying "prove to me you don't eat cake" just before someone lopped her head off.

People are discontented with the ECB, and they either have to act to quell that with some positive action, or face further alienation of their fans.

The truth is, people in the system got promoted after overseeing the most disastrous tour in the sports history. The truth is, before the ECB even spoke a word in the way of sacking KP, I had posted an article criticising the setup and the spent many a post criticising the ECB.

As far as I see it one thing that has been ignored through this is that in many ways KP is ancillary to this debate.... he is just the spark that ignited the gunpowder, if truth be known the ECB have increasingly annoyed me as a fan, this was just the last step.

So if KP is proved to be wrong in the future I doesn't matter. I am sick of leaked dossiers, I am sick of journo's being ECB puppets, I am sick of non cricketing people being given pals jobs, I am sick of the money chocking our game that serves as the only interest for the ECB actions, I am sick of endless matches, devaluing the product, their attitude to players....
