After a lean stretch spent discussing why he left Natal, Notts and Hampshire (only Notts really sounds like there was a problem fitting in, and maybe not even there) and boring stuff like technical issues, how many friends he has, motivation and winning the Ashes in Australia, we get the first mention of Cheese. The music has changed like in the shower scene in Psycho. I can feel he's taking a deep breath.

It's how you'd feel about a house-mate you'd lived with too long, and you've begun to notice you hate his laugh and the way he leaves all the draws open and you record it in your diary:

'He is dominating the place, and has taken to referring to himself as the Big Cheese (or informally, Cheese). As in, the Big Cheese is pleased with how he played today. The Big Cheese has earned some beer tonight. Cheese went out last night. Cheese went to bat today. Who does that? I don't know how he got the name, but he started using it a lot'.

I've never read Kafka, but I imagine it goes like this:

'Seriously. How the hell am I even on that level with ego problems? I'm nowhere hear it.... I need to escape other people. There are lots of days when I need to escape the Big Cheese, and his followers, the little Baby Cheeses, as they try to run the dressing room...

'I HEAR THE WAY THE bIG cHEESE AND THE LITTLE bABY cHEESES TALK IN THE DRESSING ROOM, THE WAY THEY GO ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS AND THE STUFF THEY SAY TO OTHER players both on and off the field, and I realise how little the media know about what goes on in the team.'

I cleaned out my fire and left a note to mother: today I grew tentacles and eyes made up of many plaques.I drank a little tea.

Well, they were out to get him.

I think the stress, boredom and disorientation of being on the road and away from home so much is a bit destablising.

I been saying that for years in answer to fans who say what a great life they have on tour, staying in 10 star hotels and cosseted by backroom staff. It's that side of life which is more tiring than the amount of cricket they play.

Yes, I think the constant travelling and being away from home/family is the killer. If they just played all the time in the uk it wouldn't be as bad. And touring with England has restrictions, like stoping you from having your family with you.

I haven't got there yet, but apparently KP asked Flower if Trott could have his wife with him, even if no one else could. Which sounds like the kind of empathy through experience KP can do. He's not so good at understanding situations he hasn't been in.

I was thinking about KP leaving the WCT20 that they won, to be at the birth of his child, and then going back straight away. Of course, they all do it. But it must be a very difficult and unnatural thing to do, to leave your partner/baby like that. Maybe it shouldn't be expected. KP doesn't actually complain about that.

I haven't got there yet, but apparently KP asked Flower if Trott could have his wife with him, even if no one else could. Which sounds like the kind of empathy through experience KP can do. He's not so good at understanding situations he hasn't been in.

Utter BS, but it paints KP in a good light, so im not surprised he has put it in there.

I'm sure he also offered all his wages to charity, but the ECB/Flower/Prior stopped him.

Rather strange to see Collier defending Flower as a man of, "superb integrity" when the ECBs own dossier highlights him refusing to talk to one of his senior players during a tour.

Well, it's difficult to say it didn't happen. Trott has backed him on events in BD, which a poster said didn't happen.

He hasn't mentioned charity yet.
