This Scotland v NI game is a classic example of why friendlies should be done away with.

I watched the sumptuous tie between Gabon and Mali..... seven goals, a red card, plenty of fouls that could have been red, a saved penalty, two sweet goals from free kicks and played in the manner that the game was a precursor to an intercontinental war.

Leave my friendlies alone!

Was chatting to a work colleague who asked why the EPL and Championship teams have international breaks, when the qualifiers come round, as teams in our domestic Cricket and Rugby leagues are punished when England play tests/six nation matches. As mentioned on another thread, Yorkshire could lose half of their team, which will obviously include some of their best players, due to England call ups, so why not In Football? This will lead to reserve players being given a chance, which could benefit our national team.
