Buffon got his angle's right.

We're all over them like a rash at the moment.

He did which is why Rooney needed to dink it over him.

Oh, and they have gone something like 15 games unbeaten at the moment, and have played some very good teams in that time....

Barkley is so positive. Good stroke from Kane.

I like Barkley a lot, he is nowhere near a finished article, but he seems to have a great allround game, just needs experience at the top level to improve.

Portugal lost 2-0 at home to Cape Verde. Surprisingly, Cape Verde are ranked 38th in the world. They were ranked 182nd in 2000!

I never knew Cape Verde was a country until now, I had to go on Google Maps to find out where it is

I've never heard of them either. I thought it was just some kind of exhibition match.

As for England, such is my interest in international football these days, I had no idea until I switched the match on that we were playing Italy.

I knew we were playing a midweek game but just assumed it was another Euro qualifier.

This Ireland v England friendly has been of a very poor standard thus far.

Sterling has been awful, and a midfield of Lallana, Wilshere, Henderson and Milner does nothing for me.

Although Wilshere has looked pretty good, getting the ball under control quickly and making good runs through the middle. Trouble is no end product whatsoever from anyone.

I had no idea this was on and looking at the match report it seems I dodged a bullet.

Everyone playing like it was an end of season meaningless game, with their eyes on more important matters next week.

Mind you I reckon they'll want the Slovenia game over as soon as possible so they can get off on their holidays.

Harry Arter did come on for his Ireland debut in the second half.

I didn't either until it was mentioned on talk sport an hour before kick off. Absolutely no publicity whatsoever.
