It's not just about runs for the WI, time is a big factor for them. If they can bat till tea and keep the England lead to about 100 then England may bat three sessions (or more) to get the lead Cook would be happy with.

Could be in for a scenario where England take an over-cautious approach to the second innings declaration ,end up a couple of wickets short of victory ,with the Windies not remotely close to the target, leading to one of Botham's furious rants!

If WI do well, England will have a lead of 100 towards the end of the next session. Which gives England a day to get a lead of 450. And over four sessions to bowl them out. That would be an extremely advantageous position to be in. Even if England don't get that many, starting with a lead of 100, they shouldn't be outbatted by WI.

I wonder how different the Ashes team will be from this. Obviously Moeen for Tredwell. Trott has to justify his recall ahead of Lyth. Woakes might contest Jordan's place, as may Plunkett. Woakes may push Stokes. Probably won't see anyone else though, unless everything goes badly.
