Nick Knight praising Cook's batting but, needless to say, Bob Willis is not impressed with the 2 runs an over scoring rate:
"It's not satisfactory as far as I'm concerned."

I think Cook is batting for his century first and England second but many batsmen might do just the same in his position. Mind you Boycott got dropped when he did so a few years ago.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

True, I suppose the tactic will work if England get a big enough lead in time to bowl out the West Indies in the second innings.

If England score at the same rate for the next 2 sessions as they have in the first, then they will be just about level with WI's first innings score.

69 runs in that session in 34 overs.

With the weather predicted i would assume they would want about a 100 run lead overnight?

They might just need to force it a little. They do bat down to 8 after all.

Hopefully they will get the rate up, although if they don't the furious response from Willis will be highly entertaining!

Cook's SR is 33!

If this was Boycott, one of his team mates would run him out.

Ballance's is 28. But he has some justification as a new batter at the crease.

Next 2 sessions have to go for at least 100 runs.

England seem to think its more important not to loose than it is to win.

They do and it's a mistake imo-I don't think a draw will go down at all well with Colin Graves even if England win the last test. A 1-0 series victory would still be a poor result.

Can put the tv on now. Steely cranking the SR up from 33 to 36. Something had to give.

Poor last over from Bishoo, bowling over the wicket to two left hand bats he should be bowling on off stump line but he's bowled predominately a middle and leg line and getting swept.

Ballance is hardly smashing the cover off it... SR of 24.

When there is rain in a game there is nothing like batting negatively to secure a draw

Bell walks off again shaking his head all the way back to the dressing room. Does he think he is the unluckiest person alive? He always walks off shaking his head in disbelief.
